As we mentioned previously, Ohio is the new Wisconsin. In March of this year, Governor John Kasich (R-OH) signed Senate Bill 5 into law, a hyper-partisan bill that strips over 400,000 hardworking Ohioans of their right to collective bargaining. The bill prevents public employees from striking or bargaining for health insurance and pensions. Thanks to the We Are Ohio coalition of volunteers, and the signatures of nearly 1.3 million Buckeye State citizens, the issue will be put to a statewide referendum vote November 8th as Issue 2.. Kasich claims the bill will help close Ohio's budget gap. But as we all know, taking away constitutional rights will not solve this country's financial crisis. Let's hold the right people accountable. Teachers, nurses, and firefighters are not the cause of Ohio's budget deficit. Corporations and millionaires continue to slide under the radar while working and middle class Americans struggle to stay afloat. Are you in Ohio? We need your help. Vote NO on Issue 2 this November and get connected with We Are Ohio. Let's save the American Dream for generations to come. Click here to find out how you can get involved in your community.
